Deputy Nursery Manager - Full-Time (Monday to Friday)

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team at Complete Childcare located in Wokingham. In this leadership role, you will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality care and education for children. This will be a 'shared deputy' position with an existing member of staff. Your Role and Responsibilities Leadership and Daily Operations
Assist the Nursery Manager in leading and managing the nursery team
Oversee staffing, room organisation, and ensure smooth daily operations
Maintain a welcoming, safe, and family-friendly environment for children and staff
Step into the Manager's role in their absence, ensuring continuity of care and compliance
Early Years Development and Compliance
Ensure the nursery meets EYFS Early Years Foundation Stage requirements
Implement and monitor safeguarding policies, maintaining a safe space for all children
Keep up-to-date records of staff qualifications, DBS checks, and training
Support children's learning and development by promoting best practices in early education
Strategic Planning and Policy Implementation
Assist in the development and continuous improvement of nursery policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with OFSTED regulations, local authority guidance, and company policies
Work flexibly across different nursery rooms and settings as required
Attend staff meetings, manager meetings, parents' evenings, and nursery events
Building Strong Relationships
Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to foster strong partnerships
Support children and families by being an approachable, friendly, and clear communicator
Liaise with OFSTED, local authorities, and multi-agency professionals when required
What We Are Looking For Essential Skills and Experience
Level 3 or higher qualification in Early Years or Childcare
Experience working with children aged 0 to 5 years in a nursery setting
Knowledge of EYFS framework, OFSTED requirements, and safeguarding
Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and support a team
Excellent organisational and time management abilities
Passionate about delivering exceptional childcare
