We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to support the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. This role is essential in ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to an excellent dining experience for our guests.

Our nursery can hold up to 75 children, we have a wonderful Chef who creates healthy and nutritious meals in our spacious kitchen, we are looking for an enthusiastic kitchen assistant to work 11am-2pm Monday to Friday to assist with duties in the kitchen!

Responsibilities

Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking. Support chefs with cooking tasks, following their instructions to maintain quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Help with serving meals during busy periods, ensuring timely delivery to customers. Participate in catering events as required, assisting in the setup and breakdown of service areas. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and communication.

Requirements

Previous kitchen experience or culinary experience is preferred but not essential. Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is highly desirable. Experience in catering or restaurant environments will be an advantage. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are crucial for maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field.
