Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Lunch Cover to support our team in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children during the hours of 11.30am to 2.30pm. This role involves supervising children, ensuring their wellbeing, and facilitating a positive lunchtime experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for early childhood education.

Responsibilities

Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. Manage the lunch area, promoting good manners and healthy eating habits. Communicate effectively with children, encouraging them to express their needs and feelings. Assist children with their meals as necessary, fostering independence where appropriate. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the lunch area before, during, and after meal times. Collaborate with nursery staff to ensure a seamless transition between activities. Support the overall management of the nursery environment, contributing to a positive atmosphere.

Qualifications

Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred. A background in early childhood education is advantageous. Strong leadership skills to effectively manage lunchtime activities. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to foster positive relationships with children and staff alike. A genuine passion for childcare and supporting children's development. Ability to drive may be beneficial for occasional off-site activities or events.
