Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Lunch Cover to support our team in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children during lunchtime. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare and early childhood education, with the ability to communicate effectively and manage the needs of young children. This role is crucial in ensuring that children enjoy their meals in a pleasant atmosphere while adhering to health and safety standards.

Duties

Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with serving meals and encourage healthy eating habits. Manage children's behaviour in a positive manner, promoting respect and cooperation. Communicate effectively with children, fostering an engaging environment. Support children with any dietary requirements or allergies as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area before, during, and after meals. Collaborate with nursery staff to ensure a smooth transition between activities. Provide leadership by setting a good example for children in manners and social interactions.

Qualifications

Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred. Knowledge of early childhood education principles is advantageous. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to manage groups of children effectively while maintaining a calm demeanour. A genuine passion for childcare and nurturing young minds. A valid driver's licence may be beneficial for travel purposes related to nursery activities. Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the nursery and its schedule.
