Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Lunch Cover to support our nursery team during lunchtime. This role is essential in ensuring that children are well cared for and engaged during their mealtime. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for working with young children and have the ability to communicate effectively with both children and staff.

Duties

Supervise children during lunch, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. Assist with serving meals and help children with their dining needs. Promote good table manners and encourage positive social interactions among children. Manage any behavioural issues that may arise during lunchtime, using effective communication strategies. Collaborate with nursery staff to ensure a smooth transition before and after lunch periods. Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, ensuring all tables and utensils are properly cleaned after use. Engage with children in conversation to foster their social skills and language development.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills to effectively manage groups of children during lunch periods. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in English. Knowledge of early childhood education principles is an advantage. Ability to drive may be beneficial for commuting purposes but is not essential. A genuine passion for nurturing children's development and well-being.
Shifts can be 15 hours per week (11.00-2.00) or 20 hours (11.00-3.00)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 12.25 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
