Purpose:
Lead the strategic, operational, and financial direction of the nursery and day care. Ensure high-quality early years education in a safe, inclusive, intergenerational setting. Maintain compliance with legal and statutory requirements and foster strong relationships with parents, staff, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Learning
Deliver a stimulating EYFS-aligned curriculum reflecting the setting's ethos.
Monitor and improve teaching quality.
Use assessment to guide planning and meet individual needs.
Collaborate with families and professionals to support children's development.
Leadership & Management
Lead recruitment, staff performance, and development.
Maintain and update operational policies (e.g., safeguarding, health & safety).
Ensure compliance with regulations and Ofsted standards.
Support strategic planning, internal leadership, and communication.
Business & Operations
Promote the setting to prospective families.
Oversee enrolment, budgeting, and growth strategy with the Business Manager.
Lead safeguarding, staffing efficiency, and data protection practices.
Person Specification:Qualifications & Skills
Level 3 in Early Years (commitment to Level 4)
Paediatric First Aid & Safeguarding training
Safer recruitment and IT proficiency
Experience
5+ years in early years leadership
Strong understanding of EYFS, SEN, child development
Experience managing teams, curriculum, and compliance
