The Pickford Nursery is a brand new, purpose-built day nursery located in the heart of Bexleyheath. We are dedicated to providing high-quality childcare and early education in a nurturing environment, and we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team.
We are a small nursery with a full capacity at about 60 children. We have about 15 members of staff at the nursery.
Summary
We are seeking a Nursery Manager to lead our team at The Pickford Nursery. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of exceptional early childhood education and care, fostering a safe and stimulating environment for children. The position is based in Bexleyheath.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
Lead and support a team of childcare professionals, promoting best practices in early childhood education.
Develop and implement engaging educational programs that meet the needs of all children.
Foster positive relationships with parents and caregivers, maintaining open communication about children's progress.
Manage budgets, resources, and staffing effectively to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Conduct regular assessments of children's development and adapt programs accordingly.
Adhere to the health and safety policies and procedures and be responsible for ensuring the nursery remains compliant in respect of suitably trained staff with relevant first aid qualifications and Health and Safety training.
Induct, support, train and appraise all staff to ensure delivery of high-quality childcare practice.
Requirements
Proven experience in a managerial role within a nursery or childcare setting.
Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
A relevant qualification in childcare or early years education is essential.
To provide professional leadership and management of the nursery; effectively manage the day-to-day running of the nursery.
Deliver the highest standards of care and education.
To play a key role in marketing the Nursery to prospective parents, attend and participate in Open Day events, etc.
To meet the EYFS and Ofsted Requirements, Compliance with all regulatory requirements etc
Support the development of good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.
Ensure that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understands and, when necessary, follow Safeguarding Procedures.
We are looking for a Nursery manager who has an active and hands on approach to supporting staff and delivery of Learning, Development, and Care for children at the nursery.
We have group support functions in addition to nursery managers that work on admin and paperwork for the nursery including following up on enquiries and sending and signing of new contracts, council funding and ordering and supplies for the nursery. Recruitment is done centrally by the Back Office team and Group HR Admin. The Nursery managers therefore do not deal with admin tasks of ordering of admin, recruitment, funding, invoicing, enquiries, onboarding, payroll etc.
