Nursery Manager -
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the successful establishment and launch of the new nursery, ensuring all regulatory requirements and registration processes are completed to the highest standard
Recruit, train, mentor and manage a high-performing team of early years practitioners, fostering a positive and collaborative working culture
Ensure full compliance with Ofsted requirements, safeguarding policies, health and safety regulations, and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
Develop and implement an outstanding curriculum that promotes child development across all areas of learning, ensuring every child reaches their full potential
Build strong partnerships with parents and families, maintaining excellent communication and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for all
Manage the nursery's day-to-day operations including budgets, occupancy levels, staff rotas, and resource allocation to ensure financial sustainability
Establish effective systems for observation, assessment and record-keeping that track children's progress and inform planning
Create and maintain inspiring, safe and stimulating learning environments both indoors and outdoors that engage and challenge children
Lead safeguarding practices across the setting, acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensuring all staff are fully trained in child protection
Drive continuous improvement through self-evaluation, staff development and implementing best practice in early years education
Develop marketing strategies to promote the nursery within the local community and achieve optimal enrolment
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with legal and regulatory requirements, preparing for and managing Ofsted inspections
Experience
Proven experience in a management role within a nursery or childcare setting is essential
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff
Experience working directly with children, demonstrating a commitment to their development and well-being
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices is highly desirable
