NURSERY MANAGER

An exciting opportunity for a nursery manager in our second Welsh medium setting in Cardiff. We currently run a successful nursery setting in Duffryn, Newport and are looking to expand to a second setting in January 2026.

The role of nursery manager is to ensure all children attending the setting receive high quality care, are kept safe and are provided with planned and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs and support all aspects of the Welsh Foundation Phase and the New Curriculum for Wales.

You must have experience managing a childcare setting and speak Welsh.

Key responsibilities include :

-plan and deliver effective management of the nursery

-ensure the nursery complies with all relevant legislation, local authority and EYSTN requirements

-recruit and manage staff, ensure staff adhere to nursery policies, objectives and code of conduct

-maintain and oversee relations with parents and third parties

-ensure excellent quality childcare and the highest standard of safety and security within the nursery

Qualifications required :

Childcare qualified to minimum level 3 (level 5 preferred) from a recognised award scheme

Experience of managing a setting (2 years preferred)

Minimum 2 years experience working in a nursery setting

Fluency in written and spoken English and Welsh.

Location + Commitments :

Permanent, full-time position based in Newport

Monday to Friday, with shifts requiring early starts or late finishes in line with the nursery's opening hours (7.30am-6.00pm)

Year-round position includes summer and other school holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 33,000.00 per year
