We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. This role is pivotal in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, ensuring their safety, development, and well-being while fostering positive relationships with parents and staff.
Responsibilities
Overall day to day management responsibility for the nursery
To be responsible for the efficient running of the nursery and overall delivery of a high quality service
To ensure that the nursery provides a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment
To ensure that the nursery plans an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress
To ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times
To manage, supervise and support the nursery staff
To work with other professionals for the benefit of children and families
To ensure all staff understand and work to nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
To conduct staff appraisals and supervisions as appropriate and to identify staff training needs
To ensure all records are properly maintained in accordance with the policies and procedures of the nursery
To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children's progress and encouraging parents' involvement.
Skills
Must
hold a level 3 full and relevant qualification in childcare.
2 years proven experience in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to manage a team effectively while demonstrating strong leadership qualities.
A passion for working with children and supporting their development.
Capability to drive initiatives that enhance the nursery's operational effectiveness.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing daily activities.
SENDCo qualification and experience would also be desirable but not essential.
