Nursery Manager - Small, Nurturing Setting

Location: Derby

Hours: Full-time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

We are a warm and welcoming small nursery in Derby, committed to providing high-quality early years education in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our dedicated team and ensure the continued success and development of our setting.

About the Role:

As Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring that children are cared for in a happy, secure, and inspiring environment. You'll lead and support a small team, oversee planning and safeguarding, and work closely with families and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of nursery operations including staffing, enrolment, compliance, and curriculum planning Ensure the nursery meets Ofsted standards and adheres to all relevant policies and legislation Lead and inspire the team, supporting their development and ensuring high-quality care and education Build strong relationships with children, parents, and the local community Manage budgets and resources effectively
What We Are Looking For:

A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 5+ preferred) A minimum of 3 years experience working in a private day nursery Previous experience in a leadership or management role within an early years setting A strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills A genuine passion for working with children and a nurturing, child-centred approach
