We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our new nursery that is due to open at the end of 2025. The position will start at our Latimer nursery, shadowing the manager to prepare you for the role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management and childcare, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills while fostering a nurturing environment for children and staff.
Responsibilities
Manage the overall operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with EYFS, DfE and Ofsted.
Lead, motivate, and support nursery staff in their professional development and daily tasks.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's wellbeing and development.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and staff.
Oversee the planning of activities that engage children in learning through play.
Liaise with other professionals to ensure the children's needs are met.
Ensure the staff are well supported as the nursery grows and develops.
Skills
Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and leading teams within a childcare setting.
Ability to support staff on a daily basis - being hands on is paramount!!
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and SEND.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of child development and able to cascade this to the team.
Ability to drive initiatives that enhance the quality of care and education provided at the nursery.
Ability to communicate with parents on a professional level while ensuring families feel listened to and supported.
Experience working with children in a nursery or similar environment is essential.
A passion for nurturing children's development through engaging activities and learning experiences.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.

This role is subject to two exceptional references and a clear DBS. The interview process will consist of a formal interview and a day spent at the nursery to get to know everyone.
We are a small chain of 3 nurseries, we have a strong support network between the managers, admin manager and the operations director. Each nursery is unique and managers are able to make the nursery their own with the support of their team.
