About the Role
We're looking for a confident, inspiring, and highly organised
Nursery Manager
to lead our
recently rated Outstanding
Leeds setting.
You'll oversee the day-to-day operations, guide a passionate team, and ensure we continue to deliver exceptional education and care.
You'll work closely with our EYFS Manager and Area Manager to maintain the highest standards of quality, compliance, and staff development -- while also driving recruitment, retention, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations, staffing, and parent communication.
Ensure all safeguarding, EYFS, and health & safety standards are met.
Manage rotas, budgets, and nursery systems efficiently.
Maintain compliance and readiness for Ofsted at all times.
People Leadership
Lead, coach, and inspire a strong, motivated team.
Conduct supervisions, performance reviews, and ongoing mentoring.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and respect.
Recruitment & Retention
Drive recruitment to ensure strong staffing levels.
Work closely with the EYFS and Area Managers to implement retention initiatives.
Monitor staff turnover, wellbeing, and professional development KPIs.
Quality & Curriculum
Collaborate with the EYFS Manager to sustain and enhance Outstandingteaching and learning.
Support Room Leaders with planning, observations, and assessments.
Champion continuous improvement and innovation across the nursery.
Parent Partnerships
Build strong, trusting relationships with families.
Oversee settling-in, transitions, and feedback processes to maintain high parent satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
Minimum
Level 3 qualification in Early Years
(Level 5 or higher preferred).
Proven experience as a
Nursery Manager or strong Deputy Manager
in a high-quality setting.
Excellent knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
Confidence with systems, data, and using information to improve performance.
A calm, reflective, and purpose-driven leader.
