We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to join our dynamic Early Years team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional childcare and education, ensuring that children thrive in a stimulating and safe environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, and the ability to inspire and support a team of practitioners.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare and Education:
Plan and implement educational activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
Ensure each child's developmental needs are met and track progress through observations and assessments.
Create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
Operational Management
Oversee the daily operations of your assigned room, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including health, safety, and safeguarding standards.
Maintain a well-organised, stimulating, and safe environment for children and staff.
Staff Management
Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of nursery practitioners within the room.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing professional development and support.
Foster a positive and collaborative atmosphere, encouraging teamwork and high morale.
Childcare and Education
Develop and implement an age-appropriate curriculum aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the room.
Ensure each child's individual developmental needs are met and progress is tracked through observations and assessments.
Parental Engagement
Act as the main point of contact for parents in your room, building strong and trusting relationships.
Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and any concerns.
Organise and participate in parent meetings to involve them in their child's development journey.
Health and Safety
Conduct regular risk assessments within the room and ensure all health and safety protocols are followed.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards to safeguard the health and well-being of children and staff.
Implement and uphold robust safeguarding measures to protect all children in your care.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all practices in your room comply with Ofsted and EYFS guidelines.
Prepare for and support nursery-wide inspections, addressing any areas for improvement as required.
Stay informed about changes to EYFS and regulatory standards, implementing updates as necessary.

Early Explorers Nursery and Pre-school, 19 Blackheath Rd, London SE10 8PE.
Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours per week with occasional flexibility for events or meetings.
Salary:
35k-46k, dependent on experience.
