Responsibilities:
- Day to day management of the nursery.
-To be the DSL for the setting, and ensure all staff have a sound knowledge of safeguarding.
-To lead the team in providing a high standard of quality care and education.
-Supervision and support of other personnel within the nursery, therefore implementing high standards of quality practices.
-To oversee the activities on offer in the nursery, ensuring the are stimulating and appropriate for the children accessing them.
-To work closely with the Deputy/Management team to ensure that the children needs are being met.
-To be aware of current legislation, policies and procedures.
-To ensure planning for all areas is effective.
-To ensure staff ratios/deployment are effectively organised.
-To promote good communication between setting and parents/carers.
-To she prospective parent/carers around the nursery and book new families in.
-Liaise with outside bodies and other professionals associated with the nursery.
Requirements:
-Qualified to level 3 minimum in Early Years.
-Previous experience in some level of nursery management is desirable.
-Strong knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted standard and requirements.
-Strong team building skills.
-Excellent leadership and communication skills.
-Ability to work independently.
