Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and management skills, be able to develop and support staff to provide a nurturing and safe environment for children. This role requires a deep understanding of early childhood education and the ability to communicate effectively with both staff and parents. The Nursery Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experiences of young children while fostering a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant Ofsted regulations and standards. Lead, mentor, and support team of 20 nursery staff to maintain a cohesive and highly skilled team focused on delivering high-quality childcare and educational experiences. Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes with the Deputy Manager that promote children's development and learning. Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise. Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of nursery staff. Ensure that the nursery environment is safe, clean, and conducive to children's learning. Manage budgets, resources, and supplies efficiently to support nursery activities. Foster positive professional relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities and community organisations.

Experience

Proven experience in a management role within a nursery or similar childcare setting is essential. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate the team. Experience working with children in an educational or childcare capacity is required. A background in early childhood education is mandatory. Ability to be hands on and transparent, showing that ability to "walk the talk" demonstrating highest level of honesty and integrity with all levels. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction and building and sustaining relationships with staff and parents. A valid driving licence would be necessary for travel related to nursery activities.
