Who are you?


A big-kid-at-heart who can swap from CFO (Chief Finger-paint Officer) to safeguarding super-hero in the time it takes a two-year-old to shout "LOOK AT MY DINOSAUR ROAR!" You'll lead an incredible team of 11 playful educators, keep the grown-up paperwork humming and still have the energy to join the lunchtime conga.

Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, along with a passion for early childhood education. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while also managing staff and engaging with parents.

Responsibilities



Lead and manage the nursery team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote children's development and learning. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards. Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns. Manage daily operations, including staff scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Provide support and guidance to staff in their interactions with children, ensuring high-quality childcare practices are upheld. Organise training and professional development opportunities for team members. Oversee the maintenance of the nursery facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment for children.

Essential super-powers



Level 3 Early Years (or equivalent) - because you already speak fluent "toddler" Level 2 Food Safety - you can turn broccoli into a rocket ship 2+ years in a leadership role in an early-years setting Clear enhanced DBS & right to work (non-negotiable - even super-heroes need clearance)

Bonus super-powers



Paediatric first-aid (kiss-it-better level 100), we will provide training if not Makaton or BSL - hands are for talking AND high-fives Experience with managing allergies, specialist food requirements - you know your soya from your quinoa

Experience



Proven experience in management or leadership roles within a childcare setting is essential. Strong background in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable. Experience working directly with children in a nursery or similar environment is required. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with staff, parents, and children. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation as needed.
