Position: Nursery Manager



Salary: Up to 45,000 (Based on Experience)



Location: Monkey Puzzle Walton-on-Thames, Surrey



Hours: 42.5



Reports to: Nursery Director

As the Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing, child-centred environment for children while managing daily operations and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires effective communication and the ability to drive a team towards achieving high standards of care and education.

A a Nursery Manager, you'll build bonds with parents and children every day. On your daily walkarounds, you'll touch base with your team members, giving them the opportunity to give you necessary updates. Working closely with Senior Management and Director, you'll support across staffing attendance and sickness, safeguarding, health & safety and finance, while inspiring all within the nursery and enabling a cohesive and calm environment.

You'll be a role model in the nursery and influence the setting with your positive attitude. You'll be a caring and compassionate leader who sincerely cares for your team and the children in your nursery.

A Day at Nursery would include:



Fully understanding the Policies and Procedures and following them when running the nursery.

Managing and overseeing the daily running of the nursery. Forming professional and friendly partnerships with parents and the staff team, fostering strong relationships, and addressing any concerns or feedback. Completing staff supervision regularly and ensuring communication with the staff team is kept to a high standard. Leading staff meetings every month. Staff delegation and deployment to ensure all rooms are working within the adult to child ratios. Conducting peer observations and management spot checks. Focusing on the quality of interaction and the high levels of practice. Conducting clipboard tests on the staff team to improve knowledge. Mentoring and training the staff team whilst encouraging and upskilling practice. Organizing parent events. Monitoring all daily and weekly checks are completed to a high standard. Conducting effective viewings of the nursery. Assisting with the enquiries process, and following up with parents after their viewing. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements within the nursery setting. Monitor children's progress and maintain accurate records of their development. Collaborate with external agencies when necessary to support children's needs. Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery's occupancy and reputation within the community.

Ideally you will have



Have a minimum Level 3+ Qualification in Early Years / Childcare Previous experience of working as a Nursery Manager or experienced Deputy reading to step up Can inspire, energise, lead and support the diverse staff team Has a genuine passion and excitement to work with children and helping others learn An extensive knowledge of the current EYFS framework and regulations. A good knowledge of Birth to 5 development and the EYFS curriculum A firm knowledge of Ofsted standards and requirements, Ofsted preparations and responsibilities To be passionate, motivated, professional, have the ability to work well within a team, and be able to adapt to a fun and inspiring way of working Able to communicate effectively at all levels (parents, children, colleagues and senior management) with good IT skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Staying up to date on Childcare sector news and methods and supporting your implementation of updates in the nursery. Salary: 38,000 to 45,000 per annum based on qualifications and experience.
