This is an exciting role for an OT or Physio to work across the Moving and Handling team and the OT team carrying out risk assessments for disabled children and adults across the city.
We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist or to join our team. The right candidate will be will be responsible for training family carers and PAs, assessing for moving and handling equipment to reduce care and promote safety and independence. You will also assess for seating, bathing and toilet equipment, completing comprehensive risk assessments for care agencies and families.
The key functions of the role will be

• To carry out functional assessments for complex bespoke equipment and adaptations

• To complete assessments for major adaptations to provide safe access to sleeping bathing and toileting facilities and the property

• To complete moving and handling risk assessments, producing moving and handling plans and facilitating training for family and paid carers

The post holder would need to be flexible and have excellent time management skills, as the nature of the job can result in last minute visits due to risks highlighted.
