JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS MANAGER.





KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:




The Operations Manager will manage the project deliverables ensuring successful completion of the project within the parameters of time, budgets, and quality. Assist the Operations Director with the preparation of the overall project plan & execution strategies for management review and approval on award of a project. Assist the Operations Director on the project through project management. Ensure safe and efficient execution of assigned projects, within the set targets and schedules. Assist the Operations Director to liaise with the SOC offshore management and troubleshooting. any areas of conflict between the project management team and client to ensure a smooth and continuing working relationship. Responsible for project progress of work for timely execution of the project through daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reports with respect to review of the overall project performance and position. Anticipate and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling, and conflicts to achieve on time or earlier deliveries to keep the project on schedule. Ensure project functional managers deliver the projects with the contracted duration and within the agreed budget through regular meetings and monitor performance and expenditure as per the agreed delivery plan. Promote quality awareness in every sphere of project activity and the Petrofac organization. Manage quality through audits conducted on a weekly and monthly basis and in case of nonconformances ensure that these are rectified, and measures taken to ensure that they do not recur. Support PSCM team with external service and equipment providers to ensure cost-effective and fit-for-purpose solutions. Ensure all project(s) related activities are undertaken in a cost-effective manner while meeting the requirements of project specifications and standards. Work with PSCM manager to ensure subcontractor's work is managed to achieve project deliverables and timeline objectives. Responsible for the preparation of the overall project plan & execution strategies for management review. Coordinate the work of the mobilization team to ensure that all necessary activities are reviewed and assigned as per the agreed schedule and project requirement. Responsible for achieving project deliverables and timeline objectives viz. managing the organization, mobilizing the team and developing a schedule with respect to planning, procurement, and the execution methodology in line with the contract provisions. Work with and manage specific plans for HSE, quality and cost control. Liaise with the client senior management and troubleshoot any areas of conflict between the project management team and the client to ensure a smooth and continuing working relationship. Manage people related issues, communication and direction to the project management team and executive reporting along with the project control team. Ensure relevant budget and delivery plan and provide regular project progress, reports, and forecast. Monitor progress of work for timely execution of the project through daily/weekly/monthly/ reports with respect to review of the overall project. Anticipate and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling conflicts to achieve on time or earlier deliveries to keep the project on schedule. Support the in-country Petrofac manager to ensure expectations of the project delivery team are aligned with expected behaviors and contract plan deliverables. Promote teamwork and a spirit of cooperation among employees. Guide the project team to achieve project goals, drive and motivate the project team and develop team members who have potential to move to senior positions and move on a fast track. Career planning, mentoring, proposing members for promotions, bringing in high caliber individuals to fill positions. Provide guidance and coaching to senior staff in management of their groups. Generate development plans and charting career paths for staff with recommendations for corresponding training programs. Monitor performance culminating in promotions/new roles as well as evaluating team members based on potential geared to training/career progression opportunities. Lead the team through regular meetings with the client and meetings addressing specific issues, team meetings and meetings with specific departments. Working with the Performance Manager ensuring the onshore and offshore teams develop a sharing and learning culture and apply best practice for continuous improvement of the contract. Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as required by the Operations Director.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:




Preferably degree in engineering, with extensive experience in production operations inc. FPSO and H2S experience. Extensive knowledge of offshore HSEQ, operations & maintenance, project delivery, asset integrity, late life asset management, and all commercial aspects of the business Extensive knowledge of international legislative requirements and processes. Offshore and Onshore management of emergencies experience. Proven delivery track record in similar roles. People management and development: motivating and developing current and new people and building teams through others. International experience, preferably West Africa. Excellent Safety Leadership. Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Excellent team player with proven track record of facilitation and engineering capability. An eye for detail and takes proactive action to recover business position. Understands O&G activity risk and can act to mitigate in a pragmatic manner. Can understand, explain, and act appropriately with complex data sets. A strong leadership drive, with the ability to manage dynamic operational change management. Excellent cross discipline communicator at all levels, team builder and motivator, both internally and with the client. Has the ability to present and communicate project outcomes clearly to executive level personnel. Has high levels of emotional resilience and is willing to undertake international travel as and when required. Has a proven customer centric approach.
