About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and experienced
Operations Manager
to oversee the leadership, strategic planning, and daily operations of multiple children's residential homes across the South West. You will be key in supporting Registered Managers, maintaining compliance, and driving service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, support, and develop Registered Managers and their teams.
Ensure homes meet Ofsted standards and comply with Children's Homes Regulations and safeguarding legislation.
Oversee budgets, resource allocation, and service delivery.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and improvement plans.
Lead recruitment, training, and staff retention strategies.
Build strong relationships with local authorities, safeguarding boards, and external partners.
Foster a culture of safeguarding, child-centred care, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Experience:
Minimum 3 years in a senior leadership role within children's residential care (Required)
Track record of success with Ofsted inspections and service improvement
Qualifications:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent (Required)
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and residential childcare best practices
Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills
Ability to manage multiple sites and services effectively
Other Requirements:
Full UK driving licence (Required)
Flexibility to travel across the South West
