Established in 1963, Walkers Chocolates are proud to be one of the few independent, privately owned confectionary manufacturers in the UK. Our purpose-built manufacturing site includes several automated and robotic production lines which allows us to manufacture and supply chocolate products for some of the UK's biggest retailers, as well as clients worldwide.

We are now recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced FMCG Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our production facility, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality food production, while also managing costs and driving continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all aspects of food manufacturing operations, including production, planning, quality control, and maintenance. Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs. Ensure adherence to all relevant food safety and quality standards. Manage and develop the operations team. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement. Manage budgets and control operational expenses. Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and technical, to ensure smooth operations. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess:

Proven experience as an Operations Manager or Senior Production Manager in a food manufacturing environment. A background of working within confectionary manufacturing would be a distinct advantage. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Proven ability to manage budgets and control costs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with production planning and scheduling. Familiarity with relevant food safety and quality standards (e.g. BRC).
