AC Distribution are manufacturers and suppliers of quality kitchens and bedrooms to the trade. We supply kitchen furniture, appliances, sinks, taps and worktops to retail showrooms, builders merchants and developers throughout South Wales and the South West.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Operations Manager to oversee our Manufacturing, Warehouse and Logistics operations.
You will organise and oversee the manufacturing of goods and be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and maintaining high-quality standards. You will oversee the efficient receipt, storage and despatch of a wide variety of products. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all production, warehouse and logistics processes are running smoothly and promptly.
Main responsibilities:
Oversee factory, warehouse and logistics operations and ensure targets are met
Develop and implement production schedules to meet specifications and deadlines
Monitor production standards and implement quality-control programmes
Manage inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain teams for timely procurement of materials
Organise the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
Identify areas for improvement in production processes and implement necessary changes
Manage warehouse activities to maintain an organised and efficient environment
Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in warehouse efficiency and productivity
Oversee receiving, storage, picking/packing and despatch operations
Strategically plan and manage warehouse and logistics
Lead, train, and motivate staff to ensure high performance standards are met
Coordinate logistics and transportation to ensure timely delivery of goods
Keep track of stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies
Key Skills & Experience:
Previous production/warehouse management experience
Ability to work under pressure and motivate others to meet tight deadlines
Solid knowledge of stock management
Experience with employee HR processes
Strong communication skills
Proven team management skills
Record of successful production, distribution and logistics management
Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams effectively
Proven experience in warehouse/logistics management or a similar role is essential
Excellent problem-solving skills and the capability to make decisions under pressure
Proficiency in manufacturing processes and quality assurance practices
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to analyse data and use it to inform decision-making processes
Experience operating forklifts is essential
We are offering excellent rates of pay with 28 days paid holiday including Bank Holidays. This is a permanent position and salary will depend on the level of your experience. Normal hours of work are Mon-Fri 8.00am - 5.00pm, although extended hours may be required to meet deadlines.
