POSTX aims to revolutionise goods transportation with zero carbon emissions by offering a logistics platform that cuts costs, improves service, and eliminates tailpipe emissions. We use advanced technology, including machine learning and geospatial tools, to optimise sorting, routing, and loading. Our customers--3PLs, hauliers, distributors, and logistics providers--turn to us for decarbonized fleet solutions for middle and last-mile freight. With rapid growth, live operations, successful pilots, and superb investor backing, we're solving the logistics challenges of tomorrow.
The Role
We are looking for a Operations Manager to support the scaling of POSTX's national logistics operations. You will be responsible for day to day coordination of transport activities, driver management and development while proactively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. You will have to be flexible in your tasks and approach, whilst remaining highly professional.
You should also have had significant logistics experience. You'll need to be a calm operator when issues arise, and be comfortable in a start-up environment. You'll excel at keeping things structured, and have a sharp eye for details that others might overlook.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport Operations & Fleet Management:
Oversee and coordinate daily transportation activities to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and alignment with POSTX's zero-carbon mission. Monitor trailer and vehicle conditions closely, and successfully complete maintenance required in a timely manner to minimise route disruptions. Overall responsibility of fleet usability including vehicle charging and safe trailer operation for Driver members.
Performance Monitoring & Improvement
: Utilise our logistics management software and Samsara for vehicle dispatching, tracking, and performance monitoring. Identify areas for operational efficiency improvements using data-driven insights.
Driver Management & Development
: Train, and manage drivers, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations. Conduct onboarding with strong focus on compliance and safety performance. Act as the main point of contact for drivers, managing their schedules and route allocation.
Technology & Systems Integration:
Utilise existing platforms like Samsara to provide an up to date view of Driver utilisation and fleet state. Promote the adoption of digital tools that enhance visibility, efficiency, and data accuracy.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety Standards
: Ensure adherence to local and international transport regulations. Develop and enforce safety protocols, vehicle maintenance schedules, and compliance measures.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Coordination
: Provide oversight and coordination across internal teams, ensuring real-time visibility into driver performance and fleet conditions. Collaborate cross-functionally with core leadership, key internal stakeholders, customers, and third-party partners to proactively align operational execution with business objectives and drive seamless, end-to-end service delivery.
What We're Looking For
A highly professional individual with strong decision making and technical skills (quick learner with fleet management apps or equivalent)
Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, route planning or a similar role.
A strong understanding of packing, shipping, and inventory management processes.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pumptrucks; equipment and health and safety certification is a plus) - you'll need to organise all repairs to our fleet in good time.
Comfortable with occasional physical work that involves lifting and organising goods.
Bonus points
Experience with Samsara Fleet App would be a huge plus
Competent at 'handyman' maintenance tasks, such as fixing occasional damage to trailers and cars. This would be a huge plus.
Ability to take on new information and learn quickly.
Previous experience in a startup environment or a willingness to embrace its dynamic nature.
Passionate about improving workflows and making systems more efficient.
