Phoenix Weighing Services specialise in the supply of industrial weighing equipment and services to the construction materials sector, in particular readymixed and precast concrete production, ashpalt plants, potteries, brick, pipe and rooftile manufacturers
Job Purpose
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the business, ensuring the efficient delivery of services, resource management, and maintaining high customer satisfaction levels. This role requires strong leadership, a hands-on approach, and an understanding of the concrete industry.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations including scheduling of installations, calibrations, and maintenance of weighing systems.
Act as the primary point of contact for key customer accounts.
Coordinate and manage field service engineers, ensuring service quality and timely delivery.
Maintain strong working relationships with customers.
Ensure all activities comply with health & safety and industry regulations.
Prepare and monitor KPIs to ensure operational targets are met.
Required Skills and Experience
Industry Experience:
Proven experience in the concrete industry is essential.
Customer-Facing:
Comfortable in a client-facing role with the ability to build strong, long-term relationships.
Professional communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
Hands-On Attitude:
Willingness to be actively involved in day-to-day operations, site visits, and problem-solving.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to convey instructions clearly and confidently to internal teams and clients.
Leadership & Organisation:
Experience of managing and motivating small to medium-sized teams.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
IT & Systems:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
