Are you a proactive and organised professional with a passion for enabling teams to thrive? Join our dynamic Communications department at the University of Southampton as an Operations Support Officer and play a key role in supporting the delivery of strategic communications across the institution.


In this varied and rewarding role, you'll provide high-level operational support to the Communications team, including executive assistance to the Executive Director. You'll be the go-to person for coordinating activities, managing diaries and inboxes, organising meetings and events, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.


You'll be a key contact for the wider team, helping to maintain resources, respond to queries, and support collaborative working across the department. Your initiative, judgement, and ability to build strong working relationships will be essential in helping the team deliver impactful communications.


We're looking for someone with:

Substantial experience in operational, administrative or support services Excellent communication and organisational skills A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement Confidence working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

This is a hybrid role, with two days a week based at our Highfield Campus and the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder.
