Packing Manager

Reporting Structure:

Reports to: Senior Operations Manager

Direct Reports: Packing Assistant Manager, Packing Supervisors, Bread Slicer Key Operative, Ciabatta Packing Key Operative, Frow Wrapping Key Operative, Freezer Area Key Operative will report to you on a day-to-day basis for instruction as to what to do and when. You are responsible for all the packing areas whilst you are on duty, ensuring they complete their work in a satisfactory way and report any possible under-performance to the factory manager.

Overall Objectives:

To effectively Supervision the Packing Team, by ensuring that all Legal, Food Safety, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Technical and Engineering requirements are maintained in accordance with statutory and customer requirements. To ensure your training is kept up to date, you are fully aware of how to run your line or areas of responsibility and indirect subordinates as required. Report any training or performance issue to the Factory Manager.

Accountabilities:

To ensure Panificio Italiano (PI) food safety and quality objectives are always met. To deputize for the Factory Manager/Shift Manager when required. To ensure that Health and Safety is managed effectively in their area of responsibility, by means of Audits, toolkits, safe systems of work, risk assessments and support from the H&S Manager and Factory Managers. To produce products of the highest quality by ensuring that all quality and food safety procedures are adhered too. Report all issues to a Factory Manager or any other suitable Manager within the Business Unit. To ensure that Packing Team Members are effectively deployed throughout the bakery as directed by the factory manager. To manage your area of responsibility to the highest standard and monitor other areas if a supervisor is either away from that area or off work. Care for the products we produce and report anything that you feel concerned about. Collaborate with production team to ensure delivery of production schedule. To insist that safe systems of work are followed and reported if not adhered to. Develop direct reports by sharing your knowledge and experience. Maintain and develop corporate image and brand.
