Ivry Street Medical Practice in Ipswich are looking to welcome a paramedic or ACP to join our team. This is a full time role, anticipated to start at 9am, with one day of the week working until 6.30pm. Working within our experienced team, responsibilities will include; Assess and triage patients, including same day triage, and as appropriate provide definitive treatment or make necessary referrals to other members of the primary or secondary care team.
Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self-management where appropriate, including signposting patients to the social prescribing service, and where appropriate, other community or voluntary services.
Perform specialist health checks and reviews within your scope of practice and in line with local and national guidance.
Perform investigatory procedures as required.
Perform and interpret ECGs
Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, and other samples within your scope of practice, and within line of local and national guidance.
Support the delivery of anticipatory care plans and lead certain services (e.g. monitoring blood pressure and diabetes risk of elderly patients)
Provide an alternative model to urgent and same day GP home visits
Communicate proactively and effectively with all colleagues across the team, attending and contributing to meetings as required.

About the Candidate
To be considered, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience;
Essential:
Registered nurse or paramedic with current NMC/HCPC registration
MSc in Advanced Clinical practice studies and clinical assessment
Extended/independent and supplementary nurse prescriber
Demonstrable experience working autonomously in a primary care or equivalent setting
Significant post registration experience
Management of minor illness, minor ailments and injuries
Experience of undertaken clinical audits
Competent non-medical prescriber
Perform venepuncture
Undertake routine screening (cytology, swabs)
Vaccinations and immunisations
Desirable:
Experience with minor surgery
Teaching and Assessing qualification
Mentor qualification
Clinical supervision training and experience
Community specialist qualification
