The Diocese of Westminster is looking for a skilled and dedicated
Parish Bookkeeper
to support the Borehamwood Parishes by ensuring the smooth financial operation of parish life. Working closely with the Parish Priest, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the parish's mission through your attention to detail and commitment to integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
-------------------------
Manage all parish bookkeeping using the Diocese's accounting system (OPAS)
Complete monthly bank reconciliations and annual financial returns
Record all income and expenditure, including parishioner donations and contactless payments
Administer the Gift Aid system and maintain Planned Giving records
Prepare financial reports and support parish finance meetings
Supervise volunteers where appropriate and contribute to maintaining a welcoming parish environment
What We're Looking For:

AAT qualification or equivalent
Previous experience in a similar finance or bookkeeping role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
Ability to work methodically, independently, and with confidentiality
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
Understanding of the social and moral teachings of the Catholic Church
