Part Time Bookkeeper and Office Manager:
Spiralstagelighting provide show design for touring music and live events. Based in our studio in central Halifax, the business has grown in the past 12 months and is now seeking an exceptional individual to provide support to the director and to the company overall. The role will take charge of the Bookkeeping of the business, using Xero software. This will include managing the sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control, VAT returns, simple payroll, month end routines. Additionally, the role will provide practical administrative support to the operation of the office / studio and the schedule of the director. You will be an experienced book keeper with excellent knowledge of Xero and able to take ownership of completing accurate and clear accounts for a small business. You will also have experience in office management for a small team and will proactively get involved in supporting a dynamic business in its growth. We are seeking an outgoing, enthusiastic and supportive person, with an eye for detail and excellence. Any experience working in the music, production or events industry is a bonus. The role will require at least one session per week in the office in Halifax, with a remaining element completed remotely, to a total of 8-12 hours weekly. Provide general administrative support across the business, including diary management and travel arrangements.
Maintain a tidy, well-stocked and presentable workspace.
Be the welcoming face and voice of the company--greeting visitors and handling enquiries professionally.
Support the Director with miscellaneous tasks and maintain absolute confidentiality.
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero, including sales and purchase ledger entries, bank reconciliations etc.
Process supplier payments, remittance advices and handle invoice queries.
Maintain accurate supplier/customer records and match purchase orders with delivery notes and invoices.
Prepare basic monthly accounts and financial reports, VAT Returns & Payroll.
Manage credit control and chase outstanding invoices professionally.
We're looking for someone who is:
Experienced in working within a small business environment in a key support role.
Organised, methodical and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
A strong communicator, both written and verbal, with a professional phone manner.
Experienced with Xero accounting software and confident with general IT (especially Excel).
Accurate, reliable, proactive and happy to support a small, fast-paced team.
AAT-qualified, part-qualified, or qualified through experience in bookkeeping or basic accounting.
Friendly, approachable and able to represent the company with warmth and professionalism.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 18.00-22.00 per hour
