Job Description

The work will be challenging, both physically, mentally, and emotionally at times so you must be resilient and although we are always on hand to support and advise you, we need someone who is able to think on their feet to ensure the welfare of the dogs and the public at all times. Owners must feel completely confident entrusting their pets to us, knowing they will be well cared for. Whilst you are working, your focus will entirely be on the animals under your charge. We encourage team members to get to know everything about the dog from characteristics, behaviour and use positive re-enforcement training methods.

What we are looking for:

A companionate, trustworthy, dedicated, and reliable individual with a strong work ethic, good timekeeper and have their own transport, which is a must due to locations, please note we do not transport dogs in our vehicles. We currently walk dogs in the following areas: Elmdon, Olton, Monkspath, Damsonwood, Knowle, Solihull centre and Shirley. Dog walking isn't an 'easy job'. If you can follow instructions to the letter, then this is the dream job for you. Please note this is not a Summer job we are looking for someone long term.

What's expected of you:

Travelling to customer's homes to collect the dog(s) and walk them to the nearest green area where possible. We do not transport dogs in our vehicles.

Walking dogs of various sizes and breeds independently and maintaining control of those dogs ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Maintaining communication with the Manager to advise the pet owners, providing updates, and reporting any concerns or unusual behaviour. Representing the company appropriately by ensuring dogs are well behaved in public and cleaning up any messes and disposing of waste during walks and maintaining cleanliness in clients' homes. Taking Photos/videos of dogs on walks for our social media platforms. Ensuring dogs are returned home clean and happy. Adhering to all company policies and protocols and ensuring the safety and security of the pets and homes under your care.

Qualifications/Requirements:



Proven experience working with dogs (Minimum 1 year) Full Clean Driving Licence Obtain a basic DBS-check at your own expense. Basic understanding of Dog Behaviour (further training will be provided) Confident around dogs and happy working with all dogs all shapes and sizes. Polite and confident representative and communicator.
Benefits:

Training - initially you will be required to shadow a senior member this will be 1-2-1 where you will be getting to know the dogs and getting used to the routine, procedures, and protocols before you start walking dogs on your own.

Pay - You will be paid per walk, we walk for either 30 or 60 minutes, please note we are a service provider - no dogs to walk means no pay.

Uniform and kit - this will be provided once you are successful, and your training is complete.
