Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver - Laundry & Dry Cleaning to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

This is not a standard parcel delivery role -- it involves

direct interaction with customers

collecting and delivering garments and laundry

handling items with great care and attention to detail

. You'll be the face of The Steam Shop on the road, ensuring a friendly, efficient, and seamless customer experience. This role requires excellent driving skills, effective communication, and the ability to handle heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies. Collect and deliver customer laundry, dry cleaning, and ironing orders within scheduled time slots. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled timelines. Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or damages. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly. Greet customers professionally and courteously at every collection or delivery. Record key information such as service type, cleaning instructions, and special requirements. Handle garments with care, ensuring all cleaned items are delivered in pristine condition. Double-check order labels and quantities before departing. Use company systems (e.g., mobile app) to update order status and capture signatures or photos where required. Communicate with the operations team regarding route updates or delays.

Requirements

Age:

25 years or older (for insurance purposes).

Driving Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience driving a van.

Licence:

Full, clean UK driving licence.

Customer Service:

Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude.

Physical Fitness:

Ability to lift and carry bags of laundry (typically up to 12kg).

Reliability:

Punctual, organised, and dependable with strong attention to detail.

Tech-Savvy:

Comfortable using a smartphone or delivery app for logging collections and deliveries. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.

Pay: From 12.25 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 12 per week
