Payroll Assistant/Bookkeeper

to join a very friendly and busy team within an established and dynamic firm in York offering great benefits and working environment. This role would be ideal for an experienced payroller who is now seeking to expand their career horizons and add bookkeeping skills to their payroll career!

If you are seeking to join a friendly and progressive within an established payroll department working autonomously running your own full end to end payrolls within an easy-going but professional environment - then read on!

The ideal candidate should possess previous end to end payroll processing experience processing multiple payrolls weekly/fortnightly/monthly and ideally bookkeeping skills or be ready to welcome the challenge of adding bookkeeping skills to their existing skilllset!

Training in bookkeeping can be provided!)

In addition, you will feel at home and thrive on being busy and always on the go enjoy achieving payroll goals.

Role Responsibilities



Working as part of a small busy team, dealing with both small and large multiple interval payrolls in a timely manner via Brightpay & Xero ( software training can be provided)

RTI submissions and HMRC liaison, Processing SSP/SMP Auto enrolment/pensions Resolving payroll queries Supporting additional team members as required Process starters/leavers P45/P46/P60s CIS/EPS

Person Specification

Ideally knowledge of Brightpay payroll software and Xero (however training can be offered) Experience within a full end to end payroll/payroll bureau/inhouse payroll role. Ideally knowledge and experience of bookkeeping/accounts duties (training can be provided on this aspect of the role) Strong organisation and high attention to detail Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
