This role is based at County Hall in Taunton. We support hybrid working and a significant part of this role can be completed from home but will require attendance at the workplace on occasion. We operate a flexi time system which allows flexibility for work/life balance but also meets the requirements for contact with our clients.
This role offers 25 days (pro rata) annual leave rising to 28 days (pro rata) following five years continuous service.
This role will be an ideal starting point for work within Payroll and wider HR. The Payroll and Compliance team sits within HR & Organisation Development which deals with everything from Recruitment to HR Casework and Learning & Development plus much more!

This role is to cover a secondment and is fixed term until 31st August 2026 or the return of the current postholder.
What will I be doing?
We're working to improve the lives of people in Somerset - and you'll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:
Undertaking Payroll and HR Admin tasks to support our external clients.
Dealing with standard queries related to terms and conditions of employment and other Payroll and HR queries.
Being part of the wider Payroll team supporting colleagues with staff queries and working on the Council HR/Payroll systems.
