The position reports directly to the People Manager to support company standards and best people practice, therefore you must have strong organisational and communication skills, having a keen eye for detail and a genuine passion to develop your career in HR.
Role Responsibilities:
To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Virgin Hotels HR processes and procedures and to assist the People team with HR and ER issues as required
Understand all Virgin Hotels people policies and support the People team in updating and maintaining them
Assist in ad-hoc projects
Take notes during disciplinary, grievance and appeal meetings
Assisting with all administration relating to the HR systems and employee lifecycle and onboarding i.e. processing new starters, leavers, promotions, transfers, salary changes etc
Create and issue content for the team members intranet
To coordinate and assist in the organisation of team members events
Create the People engagement calendars, working with the People Manager and be jointly responsible for the activities and initiatives carried out
Create and coordinate wellbeing initiatives to support and celebrate key wellbeing events throughout the year
Remain up to date on Virgin Hotels benefits and benefit changes in line with the new benefit year to support and advise team members on their benefit entitlement
Support People Manager with annual benefit enrolment
Keep accurate and current records of employee start dates and inform HOD's when employee reviews are due to take place. Follow up with the HOD's to ensure this is happening
Responsible for keeping current records of organisational charts
Conduct regular personnel file audits and review findings with the People Manager
Produce and submit reports on general HR activity as and when required
Support the recruitment process by assisting the HODs with sourcing candidates, performing reference checks and, pre-screening candidates
Assist the people team with the smooth onboarding and induction of new starters
What qualities are we looking for?
You have an eye for detail and can get administrative tasks done efficiently
Strong IT skills and use of all Microsoft packages
Experience with People Systems would be fabulous
Previous hospitality experience in your skillset is an advantage
Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail
Demonstrates discretion, practices a high level of confidentiality
We are looking for a great team player with a positive attitude
Background must-have:
Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the UK
Human Resources degree preferred
Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in HR or related capacity ideally within the UK hospitality sector
Experience with Fourth Hospitality is a strong advantage
