Job Description

I'm a friendly, chatty young gentleman who lives in Galashiels with a mild learning/physical disability that requires me to be in a wheelchair. I'm looking for a PA for daily morning, lunchtime, teatime and bedtime visits when I'm at home, but I also like to go for days out/weekends away, so I need someone to support me with personal care and keep me safe, whilst encouraging as much independence as possible. This can be a job share between PAs or one PA, hours can be made full time.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Support to get up, showered/washed/dried and dressed

Support with toileting

Prep and serve breakfast/lunch/dinner

Support with bedtime clothing/personal care

Escorted to appointments

I also would like a PA to escort me to activities as and when needed

Driver as I have a mobility car

Personal attributes

Kind and caring with a good sense of humour

Patient and friendly

Practical and a good communicator

Trustworthy and reliable

Driving Licence essential

Experience with moving and handling or willingness to learn

Hours

Blocks of hours for personal care, activities, W/Ends away, Days Out, etc.

Times are flexible and can be discussed with suitable candidates

The terms

14.20 per hour

Expenses paid when out with the client

5.6 weeks annual leave on a pro rata basis
