Duties
Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes and standards
Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring that all food is prepared safely and hygienically
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and food safety practices
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills for effective teamwork in the kitchen
Previous experience in serving or customer service is advantageous but not essential
