Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Oversee meal preparation, ensuring that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and communication during service. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative cooking techniques. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, sharing culinary knowledge and skills. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock. Ensure proper storage of food items to prevent spoilage and waste.

Requirements

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong emphasis on culinary skills. Solid knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Experience in meal preparation and serving within a restaurant setting is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively. Excellent communication skills, fostering teamwork within the kitchen. A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn new techniques and cuisines.
