Are you passionate about empowering students to succeed in their careers? We're seeking two Placement Engagement Co-ordinators to join our team. In this role, you'll inspire students to get experience while they study, develop and deliver innovative skills development sessions, and collaborate with Careers and Employability Service (CES) colleagues to enhance student success.
About us:
Placements and Internships give students the opportunity to gain skills specific to their subject or industry of choice as well as the employability skills required for real-life work. It also increases their knowledge of an industry or sector, allowing them to make better-informed decisions about future career choices.
The Careers and Employability Service puts students at the centre of an agile, impactful service. Our Placement Engagement Coordinators play a key role in inspiring students to engage with and succeed in securing experiential learning opportunities that build confidence, skills, and employability. We work across disciplines, focusing on students' development needs, and deliver innovative, digital-first and in-person preparation programmes.
About the Role:
As a Placement Engagement Coordinator, you'll deliver tailored, needs-based support to students across disciplines. You'll design and deliver digital-first and in-person workshops, events, and resources that meet students where they are developmentally. You'll work closely with colleagues and employer partners to create inclusive, high-quality opportunities and help students build confidence and skills through experiential learning - from placements and internships to volunteering and Rise projects.
This is a 'Variable Hybrid' role meaning you will work from campus, flexibly, for at least three days per week.
About You:
We're looking for proactive, creative individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment and can adapt to changing priorities, taking a data-led approach to planning and delivery.
You'll have excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire and engage students through workshops, events, and one-to-one guidance. You'll be confident using digital tools, adaptable to changing priorities, and passionate about helping students succeed. Strong networking and collaboration skills are essential to work effectively with colleagues and employer partners.
The successful applicant will have:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate information clearly and professionally to a diverse range of recipients, both orally and in writing.
  • The ability to make presentations and conduct group workshops.
  • Strong networking, negotiating and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience demonstrating excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • An ability to gain a full understanding of the services provided and customer needs to provide accurate help and assistance to customers and actively improve and/or promote services to existing and potential customers.
We'll provide all the training and support you'll need to help you contribute to student employability.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills and develop within the Careers and Employability Service.
