Job Description

We are currently seeking an electrically biased Plant/Project Engineer to become part of our team. This role is critical to ensure that the manufacturing equipment, services, buildings & infrastructure are maintained and improved to meet the current and future demands of the business. The role operates on a day shift.





Your main responsibilities will include;


Identifying, specifying, sourcing, and purchasing machines and equipment. Supervising sub-contractors, ensuring project implementation to time and cost whilst complying with all Company and H&S requirements. Creating project plans to support machine rearrangement, equipment installation, improvement, and cost reduction projects. Identifying and implementing cost reduction and method improvement opportunities. Purchasing parts and equipment for improvement works, collating receipts and raising purchase requisitions. Carrying out plant engineering activities, with minimal supervision, across the site including building/electrical infrastructure and manufacturing equipment. Providing technical expertise, including data analysis, planning and execution to improve equipment availability and asset utilisation for the site. Identifying and making improvements to the reliability of equipment to reduce reoccurring faults and downtime. Assisting Maintenance undertaking fault finding across the plant and on the equipment. Implementing and driving reliability excellence (REX) on critical equipment. Creation and maintenance of technical files for new and existing equipment.

This role will be based at Exeter full time, reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager



Qualified to a HNC or equivalent in Electrical or Controls Engineering with a minimum of 1 year's relevant technical experience within an Engineering environment, however a development opportunity may be available for a candidate with other existing engineering qualifications and experience Ability to identify and solve to root cause, repetitive reliability problems and write maintenance procedures CAD experience, business system experience such as Oracle, CMMS, Automation experience would be advantageous Ability to collect and analyse overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) on critical equipment Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Aware of Microsoft Project. Multiskilled or experienced in both electrical and mechanical disciplines would be an advantage * Good communication skills both written and verbal.
