Driver engagement and management is essential to ensure best in class service delivery.

To conduct Preventative maintenance (PPM's), ad-hoc repairs, projects & continuous improvements on fixed (conveyors, trommels, shakers) and mobile plant (360 excavators, shovel loaders, Telehandlers) at Our Materials Recycling Facilities (MRF's) in Leicester and Northampton.

This is a hands-on role, and you will be responsible for the planned and reactive mechanical maintenance of the Plant within the MRF, always, adhering to strict and Health and Safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM's) on all plant and equipment aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, eliminating unplanned down time.

To carry out equipment breakdowns effectively and efficiently.

Ensure that programmed work is completed on time to the satisfaction of business requirement.

Working to Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality standards applicable to the process.

Maintaining & reviewing standard operating procedures as required.

Maintaining conveyors, bearings & gearboxes to Original Equipment Manufacturers OEM standards.

Effective and economical control of critical spares stock for all key processes.

Adhere to safe working practices and procedures including and not limited to lockout, tag out and working at heights etc, inclusive of Permit to Work (PTW) adherence for high-risk tasks.

Develop and adhere to service and maintenance schedules of plant vehicles and machinery

Assist where necessary with minor Fleet repairs as required.

Knowledge And Experience

Minimum 5 years' experience as an engineer. A working knowledge of plant & machinery. Relevant qualifications & experience in welding, mechanical and or electrical engineering. Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Excellent working knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace and legal compliance associated with the maintenance and repair of fixed installations. Exceptional Organizational and time management skills. Good at information seeking and handling. Problem solving and fault diagnosis. Proven ability to multitask and prioritise own workload. Excellent internal and external customer service and oral/written communication skills. Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft products. Full and current UK driving license.
