Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in plant/machinery repair and maintenance. The Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment, including excavators, dumpers, telehandlers and forklifts. Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals. Assemble components and ensure proper functionality of machinery. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed. Work as part of a team and work with the workshop manager to meet repair timelines and assist in the smooth operation of machinery prep. Assist in heavy lifting as necessary to move equipment or parts during repairs.

Qualifications

Proven experience in mechanical repair and maintenance, ideally within a similar role. Strong understanding of working systems related to machinery. Familiarity with operating hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills. Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
