Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in masonry, carpentry, roofing, welding, or those experienced with hand tools and power tools. The successful applicant will contribute to a variety of building projects, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying necessary primers before plastering Mixing and applying plaster using hand tools and power tools to achieve smooth finishes on walls and ceilings Installing lathes or other backing materials as required for exterior or interior applications Repairing damaged surfaces by patching or re-skimming existing plasterwork Collaborating with other trades such as bricklayers, carpenters, roofers, and welders to ensure seamless project progression Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times during work activities Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, including the proper storage of tools and materials

Qualifications

Proven experience in plastering or related trades such as masonry or carpentry Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in plastering tasks Knowledge of bricklaying, roofing, welding, and general masonry techniques is desirable Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights if necessary Relevant certifications or training in construction trades are advantageous but not essential
