We are seeking a skilled Plater to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will need to be time served /apprentice trained, have a strong background in working with metal components, including experience with hand tools and power tools. As a Plater, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal parts to meet precise specifications, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the production process. Site experience would be an advantage but not essential
Responsibilities
Fabricate and assemble metal components using hand tools and power tools.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate materials and processes required.
Perform welding tasks, including stick welding, to join metal parts securely.
Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet established standards.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with team members to optimise production efficiency and resolve any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
Utilise basic maths skills to calculate measurements and material requirements accurately.
Requirements
Proven experience in fabrication and assembly.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
Familiarity with stick/mig welding techniques is highly desirable.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
