We are excited to announce that we have a vacancy for a highly motivated temporary Playgroup Assistant to join our team. Our community-run playgroup, situated in Caw, is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to local families and have over 30 years experience of service delivery. We are seeking a dedicated individual to join the staff team of our playgroup and assist our Playgroup Leader and Depute Leader in creating a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment for our children and their caregivers.
As the Playgroup Assistant, you will assist to lead and coordinate activities for young children in a playgroup setting and work closely with the Playgroup Leader, Depute Leader and volunteers. Your responsibilities will include supporting the senior staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our children in line with our policies and procedures, maintaining accurate records and working with our children and families to meet their needs.

Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of policies and procedures in line with Early Years requirements, promoting a high standard of care and education.
Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering play-based, age-appropriate activities under the direction of the Playgroup Leader.
Ensure the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children in your care at all times.
Maintain accurate records as directed and promptly report any concerns or incidents to the Playgroup Leader, following appropriate policies and procedures.
Provide individual attention and support to children, responding to their needs and developmental stages.
Work collaboratively with the Playgroup Leader, Depute Leader and volunteers to create a positive and nurturing environment.
Help ensure the playgroup setting is clean, safe, and well-resourced each day.
Support the Playgroup Leader in preparation for external inspections and evaluations.
Assist in implementing the Eager and Able to Learn programme and other evidence-based early years initiatives (training provided).
Take part in playgroup fundraising and community engagement activities.
Provide cover and general support as required to ensure smooth running of daily sessions.
Essential Requirements:
At least 1 years' experience working with young children (2-4 years) in a group setting
A sound understanding of child development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Current Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene certificates, or willingness to obtain these upon appointment.
A warm, caring, and patient approach, with a commitment to promoting children's welfare, inclusion, and learning through play
