Woodchester Playgroup is a well-established, charity-status, committee-led early years setting located in the heart of the village. We are proud to be housed in our own welcoming building with a recently refurbished garden, situated within the primary school grounds offering a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young children to learn and grow.
Our playgroup operates during term time only, from 09:00 to 15:00, Monday to Friday. Additionally, we run a relaxed "Stay and Play" session on Fridays during school holidays, offering continued support and connection for families in the area.

The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Playgroup Manager/Leader to join our friendly team and oversee the day-to-day running of our setting. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of early years education, and a passion for community-based childcare.
As Playgroup Manager, you'll lead and manage a team of early years practitioners while planning and implementing an engaging curriculum in line with the EYFS framework. You'll create a safe, nurturing environment where children learn through play and develop to their full potential. The role involves ensuring compliance with Ofsted and EYFS standards, building strong relationships with parents/carers, and working closely with our voluntary management committee to support the strategic and operational development of the playgroup.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a minimum Level 3 Diploma in Early Years and 3 years experience in a supervisory role within an early years setting. You should have a strong understanding of the EYFS Framework and current early years legislation, as well as experience in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills are essential, along with a passion for helping ALL children thrive through play. Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in relation to parents/carers, and confidence with IT systems are also required.
