Role Summary
The Post-16 and Higher Education (HE) Lead will oversee and support young people's transition from secondary school into further education, training, and employment. You will be a champion for young people, driving strategic growth, operational delivery, and holistic student development. This includes fostering employability skills, enhancing sports enrichment, and promoting progression pathways in both sport and education.
Key Responsibilities
Sport Development
Design and implement sport-specific training programmes for post-16 students.
Engage with 38 secondary schools and 20 sixth-form providers to drive recruitment.
Collaborate with coaches to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery aligned with Qualitas values.
Manage partnerships with facilities and Sheffield Hallam University.
Student Development
Monitor academic and sporting progress via bi-annual reviews.
Maintain links with local clubs for player progression.
Organise competitive and development squads, fixtures, and logistics.
Employment & Enrichment
Create volunteering and work placement opportunities.
Support students in achieving NGB Level 1 and 2 qualifications.
Promote employability services and set individual student development goals.
Recruitment & Engagement
Represent Qualitas at careers and employment fairs.
Deliver taster sessions and training days.
Maintain accurate prospective student records and recruitment targets.
Strengthen school and club partnerships.
Safeguarding & Wellbeing
Ensure compliance with safeguarding and H&S policies.
Prepare risk assessments for all enrichment activities.
Promote wellbeing and time management for students balancing sport and academics.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum Level 3 NGB Qualification (or equivalent).
Desirable: Sports Business/Coaching Degree or Post-16 PGCE.
Valid First Aid & Safeguarding certifications.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience in youth sport coaching and post-16 programme management.
Proven leadership and organisational skills.
Strong community and educational network connections.
Key Performance Indicators
Maintain 20-25 students annually in the Post-16 Programme.
Maintain 10-15 students annually in the HE Degree with Sheffield Hallam University.
Increase student participation in enrichment and employability programmes.
Track improvements in recruitment, retention, and student performance.
Timely completion of reviews, safeguarding, and risk documentation.
