motivated and skilled Maths tutors
to join our team in Carrickfergus! If you have solid experience in teaching or tutoring at post-primary level and know the
Northern Ireland curriculum
well, we want to hear from you.
Your Role:
Deliver clear, engaging one-on-one or small group Maths sessions
Support students from KS3 up to GCSE and A-Level (as applicable)
Create tailored lesson plans that address learning gaps and build confidence
Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods when needed
Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
Educated to degree level (preferably in Mathematics or a related field)
At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience
Deep knowledge of the
Northern Ireland post-primary Maths curriculum
Strong skills in algebra, geometry, statistics, and problem-solving
Ability to explain complex concepts in a way that students understand
Professional, reliable, and approachable
Patient and supportive, especially with students who struggle with maths
Preferred:
Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE)
Experience working with students who have additional learning needs
What to Expect:
A brief teaching demo will be part of the application process
Tutors should be willing to commit to the role for at least one year
All sessions are conducted
face-to-face in Carrickfergus

Key Details:
Pay
ranges from 20 to 30 per hour, depending on the level and type of lesson--whether one-to-one, group sessions, home visits, or sessions held at our Carrickfergus Hub. Further details will be discussed during the interview.
Expected hours:
4 - 25 hours per week

Flexible - weekdays and weekends available
