The Pot Washer plays a key support role in maintaining hygiene and efficiency within the production or kitchen area. This role is responsible for cleaning pots, utensils, and equipment used in food preparation, ensuring all items are sanitised and available for continued production. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Cleaning & Sanitation
Wash pots, pans, utensils, and other cooking equipment promptly after use.
Operate industrial dishwashing equipment or hand-wash large items as required.
Ensure all cleaned items are sanitised and stored correctly to avoid cross-contamination.
Clean and sanitise sinks, dishwashing stations, and work surfaces regularly.
2. Waste Management
Dispose of food waste, packaging, and cleaning materials safely.
Empty and clean bins as needed, following waste segregation protocols.
Report any issues with drains or waste systems to the supervisor immediately.
3. Equipment & Surface Maintenance
Wipe down and disinfect workstations, walls, and surfaces after each cleaning cycle.
Deep clean pots and equipment periodically as part of routine cleaning schedules.
Alert the supervisor to any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
4. Support for Production Teams
Ensure all cleaned items are returned quickly to production areas to avoid delays.
Assist with setting up and breaking down equipment as requested.
Maintain clear walkways and a safe working environment at all times.
5. Health & Safety Compliance
Follow all hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety regulations.
Wear correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Participate in any relevant training sessions or health & safety briefings.

Physical Requirements
Standing and walking for most of the shift.
Lifting and carrying heavy pots and containers (up to 25kg).
Regular exposure to hot water, cleaning agents, and humid environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or food production setting (desirable).
Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
