Kitchen Assistant
Whitmore+Jackson has built a reputation for wholesome, freshly prepared food made daily on the premises.
We are looking to appoint a Pot Washer/Kitchen Assistant for our kitchen on Barry Island.
Experience is useful, but not necessary - you should be happy to be working in a fast paced kitchen, be organised, and when trained to be confident to work independently.
We need someone who is calm and good under pressure and can communicate well with other kitchen, and front of house staff.
Shift patterns will be sociable hours, mostly daytime. The ability to work weekends is essential.

Work Location: In person
Duties:
- Wash and dry dishes
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of the head chef
- Clean work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruits
- Assist in plating and presentation of dishes
- Store food items properly and rotate stock as needed
- Follow all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 10.00-12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
